Page 7422 to 7430 - Picasso's Portrait of Dora Maar

Picasso is in Toronto this summer, and so is Dora Maar and 146 other art works, at the Art Gallery of Ontario. I visited the show at its opening weekend at end of April. It is wonderful to see so many of his works all at once, and in person (and recognize how inferior the reproduction of these works in books and on posters are). The show is organized by timeline and covers Picasso's whole career. It is a great opportunity to study the evolution of his output.

TEXT: When a show of this Magnitude comes to your hometown, you go - Toronto Star - Picasso - Masterpieces from the Musée National Picasso, Paris - On Now - Experience Picasso's own collection - 147 works he kept for himself - Tickets Available Now - ago.net/Picasso - Organized by the Musée National Picasso, Paris, and the Art Gallery of Ontario / Pablo Picasso (Spanish, 1881-1993), Portrait of Dora Maar, 1937, Oil on Canvas, 92 x 65 cm. Musée National Picasso, Paris

My way of understanding Picasso, besides intense looking and thinking, is to make drawings of his works and colour them. The "Portrait of Dora Maar" is the selected image to market this exhibition. Below are my studies of this lovely painting.
